1969 Corvette Stingray L71, 427ci/435hp, 3×2 Holley carbs, 4-speed M21, Daytona Yellow, black interior, approx 71K original miles, very good driver condition. All original never-hit body. Original born-with engine, transmission, rear axle (3:55), interior.
Has GM-sourced original L88 fender flares that were applied in the 1970’s, was painted original Dayton Yellow lacquer at that time. Also, at that time the original under-exhaust was removed along with the rear valance panel with the factory exhaust cutouts (I still have the original rear valance panel) and side pipes were installed. Paint is in good condition, however, not show quality, some scratches, chips, etc. It looks very good from 10 feet, still shiny. Car has never been wrecked.
Interior is mostly original, but I installed new carpet in the front area, and has some new vinyl on seats and new foam in seats.
This car has been in Springfield Missouri area all it’s life. It has the original license plate frame from the original dealer, Terrell Chevrolet. I am the 3rd owner. First owned for 6 months by the original purchaser, the 2nd owner owned it for 48 years from 1970 until I purchased it in 2018. It had been sitting dormant in his 1-car garage for approximately 33 years when I became the new caretaker. He was an amateur racer and did some gymkhana and time trials with the car. That’s why he added the fender flares and an original GM-sourced L88 hood that goes with the car (may be worth about $4000).
Since the car had been sitting so long, I decided to completely go through it in order to have a reliable driver. I did not disassemble the body or take the body off the frame. However, I rebuilt everything else, replaced all rubber parts and wear parts, heater core, weatherstrips. All new vacuum hose system, wipers and headlights work perfectly. I tried to use as many GM parts as possible. I cleaned out the gas tank and took pictures of the tank sticker which shows the original options.
I call this a Day 2.2 car. With the fender flares, it was essentially a Day 2 car, so I updated the tires and wheels and some other items that would make a better driving experience. I added factory tilt wheel, GM aluminum heads, aluminum brake calipers, adjustable shocks, and power steering (Borgenson steering box).
This car runs and drives very well. The 3 Holley carburetors are working well. Has the K66 electronic ignition that was upgraded to a modern electronic module. I have all the original parts that go with the car, including F41 springs, orig wheels.
